Preparing for Your Appointment

Pre-Appointment Preparation

A great tattoo starts with good skin and a prepared body. Follow these steps to ensure you’re ready for your session.

1. The 15-Minute Rule

Please arrive 15 minutes early. This gives us time to settle your bags, get you a drink, and handle any final paperwork or stencil adjustments without rushing your session.

2. Skin Preparation

  • Cleaning: Arrive with clean, healthy skin. Avoid spray tans or heavy perfumes on the day.
  • Moisturizing: Start moisturizing the area daily for one week before your appointment. This keeps the skin supple and ready for ink. Do not moisturize on the morning of your session.
  • Shaving: We generally recommend letting us handle the shaving to avoid irritation or nicks. If you must shave, use a new razor and be extremely careful.

3. Fuel Your Body

  • Eat a Big Meal: Never come to a tattoo appointment on an empty stomach. Your body needs blood sugar to manage the adrenaline.
  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the 48 hours leading up to your session.
  • Rest: Get a full night’s sleep. Your body handles pain much better when rested.

Important: No alcohol for at least 24 hours before your session. It thins the blood and will affect the quality of your tattoo.
